Congratulations to ME!

K so usually I am not this cocky. haha. But, the photo I took of the little statue man and flower was one of the Photos of the week in my photography class. I was sooo excited to get that! It made me very happy as you can tell, so I decided to write about it. I turned in my assignment for today too. I doubt it wins photo of the week or anything, but it was cool to learn the custom white balance thing with the white paper and see how much better it really looked. Why not get it right the first time so you don't have to spend (or waste) all that time editing in photoshop. Blah! yayayayay. The end.
As you can see, the preset settings on the camera don't always get the job done right. Hopefully I don't get lazy and I always at least try the custom WB.
AND HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO TARALEE TRUMAN!!! What a fabulous little lady she is. Hope you have a wondrous day and I'm sooo excited that you bought your camera today. We are going to have so much fun shooting together. :)

Soon(hopefully) we'll be able to look back at these and laugh

What I mean by this title is...Hopefully soon I will be so good at photography I'll look back at these pictures I submitted to my portfolio for the photography class I started and laugh because they're so horrible and I'm waaay waay better. Lol. A girl can wish can't she? Anyway...Our teacher asked us to submit some photos for our portfolio so he can check out the kind of pictures we've taken before and see our improvement as we go. So here they be. :)
I might as well try to get one post in a day with one picture.
P.S. I also learned how to resize the pictures so they upload better to my blog. Hopefully I did it right and they have the correct color and pixels and everything. Sorry if they don't...but I'm trying and learning.
Ya...the colors definitely don't look right. I'll post these for now and see if I can figure out how to fix them.

Starting Over...

I guess I'll just come right out and say it...I SUCK ablogging. I suppose that means it is no longer a secret. Oh well. For some reason though, I'm going to try it out, and see if I can improve the looks of it and make it a bit better. I got distracted looking at my sister and cousins blogs today, and I figured it wouldn't hurt to get mine working again too, and this time
NOT for school (ick!). Also, my fabulous cousin Tara told me that I should start a blog for my photography stuff so people can see my skills and what not. I decided to first go with this personal blog, and then once I actually have skills with photography I'll start a different blog solely for that or whatever. Again, I'm horrid at doing blogs, so this can be practice until I need to be good at it for whatever reason. So don't judge me.
Let's start by telling you a little about what's going on in my life (and perhaps the only thing, seeing as I don't have a job yet).
  • I started a photography course online yesterday
  • I also started a Photoshop Elements class as well.
THEY ARE FABULOUS!!! Love them. I have only been through 2 lessons with PE and 1 with the photography, and so far things are looking up! I'm stoked to see how improved my photos are going to look. Not to mention all the wonderful knowledge I'm gaining and I can put to good use when I start having pretty little children. Haha. Actually, we won't start thinking about that just yet. I'm a little too young for that. So we'll change that and say "I can
put to good use when..." My sister has her baby in September! :) Oh joy!!! A baby boy. It's going to be awesome. I hope she's excited, because she is going to have hundreds of thousands of photos of the little tyke. So many, she won't know what to do with them and will get sick of seeing pictures of her kid (lol. As if this could happen to any mother). Whelp, that's all for now. I'll upload the pictures that I took for the first assignment. No editing is done on them cuz he was just looking to see that we knew how to work the controls on our cameras. There's nothing too special about them. And then I guess I can upload a picture I edited thanks to the first 2 lessons on PE. Let me know what you think. Any critiques would be WONDERFUL and MUCH APPRECIATED, whether you know anything about photography or not. :) Gratzi. Enjoy.
The difference in these photos is the aperture. That's basically all there was to this part of the assignment. The first photo is with a clear background. Second is an in between. Third is the most blurred (In case ya couldn't see with your own eyes, of course then there would be no point in me posting these pictures).
Here we used a Fast shutter speed to freeze the action...and a longer shutter speed to blur the action.
Have a fabulous day!!!
